Episode #112: PPBC Coaching Call: How To Choose Your College Major

Today I have another Passion Project Bootcamp Coaching Call for you! This coaching session is with my amazing student Hailey. I was surprised to hear that she was an avid listener of this podcast (for nearly 2 years!) and now she’s enrolled in our Passion Project Bootcamp program.

After hearing Hailey’s questions, you’ll realize how driven and passionate she is about her academic and personal interests, and I love supporting motivated students with big goals!

The main question we dive into today is about Hailey’s major, and specifically how to select a major when she applies to college. She also asks about the ways she can grow her Passion Project, and I share with Hailey the 3 pillars to scale her Passion Project. We also evaluate her extracurriculars, and so much more.

If you are also navigating through the college admissions process and you want a coach and mentor who can provide guidance on what you should be working on and how to identify your Passion Project, you will love our Passion Project Bootcamp Program. There are now two ways you can get to know our program. First, you can start off with our free masterclass, where I share my story and the strategies that I use to help my students get accepted into their dream Ivy League or Top-tier colleges, and at the very end I talk about the Passion Project Bootcamp Program. To register you can go to https://juliekimconsulting.com/masterclass. If you already know you want to join the Passion Project Bootcamp right now, you can head straight over to the enrollment page at https://juliekimconsulting.com/ppbc (use the coupon code “DREAM500” to get $500 off – expires Tuesday, October 12th at 11:59 pm PDT)!

How does this podcast help you navigate your college admissions journey? Are you a parent of a high school student that finds this podcast valuable? We’d love to hear your feedback in a quick review on Apple Podcasts. It would mean so much to me if you did this, as that is one of the best ways to spread our message that the college admissions journey doesn’t have to be stressful and hard – it should be fun!

We also just released a new FREE workbook that you can download to get started thinking about self-exploration and your Passion Project ideas. Go to https://juliekimconsulting.com/workbook to get your copy now!

As always, if you have questions please reach out to our support team at info@juliekimconsulting.com, and I’d love to connect with you on Instagram – I’m at http://instagram.com/julie_kim7.

You don’t need to go to business school to be good at business.
`{`Psychology and sociology`}` majors are very competitive. However, business programs and engineering programs are still more competitive.
Think of it as having two strategies. One is psychology, one is business, and you are kind of pushing them together.
Once students start attending the college, and if they’re majoring in psychology for example, they may find they are interested in education and want to minor in that. So, they’ll have options for it.

Getting into Ivy League & Top-tier colleges doesn’t require perfection.

I repeat: You do NOT have to be perfect.

You also don’t have to spend a million hours volunteering, get perfect test scores, or be a star athlete.

What is required is understanding How to STAND OUT.
