If you’re reading this page, chances are that you’ve got a big goal to attend an Ivy League or Top-tier college. And I don’t have to tell you that to get into your dream school, you’re going to need to set yourself apart.
You might be...
Especially if you’re longing for the day when you...
Hi! I’m Julie Kim, and over the past eleven years, I’ve worked with 700+ ambitious high school students to get them into Ivy League schools & Top-tier colleges and universities.
Students like…
Each of them worked with me to craft and pursue a Passion Project that would set them apart from the sea of applicants and get them admitted to the most desired schools on the planet.
The problem is, without understanding what Ivy Leagues & Top-tier colleges are looking for, the harsh but true reality is that you have a very slim chance of making the cut.
And that’s 4.5% of the world’s top-tier students because most people don’t even think of applying to a school like Harvard unless they’re stand-out students.
And you might be making the mistake that so many Ivy League hopefuls make. . . burning yourself out by taking on as many extracurriculars as possible, and stretching yourself so thin that you’re hanging on to your sanity by a thread.
The problem with that approach is that you’re basically doing what everyone else is doing.
And my guess is that you’re doing the best you can with the resources you have.
But let’s face it: everyone is following the SAME strategies.
My students achieve their goal of Ivy League and Top-tier admission by creating a PASSION PROJECT.
Developing a Passion Project is the most effective way to get accepted into your dream school.
Your passion project will showcase your personality, interests, and initiative without spreading you too thin.
Remember that the top schools are actually not looking for well-rounded students as much as they are looking for a well-rounded class.
So when you’ve got a Passion Project that showcases your unique perspective, skills, and talents, your chances of getting accepted into your dream school skyrocket.
My name is Julie Kim, and I help ambitious students get accepted into Ivy League and Top-tier schools by developing and executing a Passion Project. As a graduate of both USC and Harvard University, I know how challenging it can be to get into your dream school.
You’ve got your own unique background and set of circumstances that may be weighing heavily on your mind as you think about applying for top schools.
My own unique situation is that when I was in the second grade, my family and I immigrated to the United States from South Korea.
My family did their best to give me a good life here in the United States, but as you can imagine, they had no clue how to advise me on the college admissions process.
I had to figure things out on my own, and I followed the common advice I heard from all directions: “Get involved!”
I loaded up my schedule with extracurricular clubs and activities while trying to stay on top of my AP coursework and study for my upcoming SAT exams.
I was completely burnt out, and what’s worse, I had convinced myself that I was proud of being burnt out. Like it was what I should be doing as a high school student. Like getting minimal sleep and filling all my free time was an accomplishment of some sort.
And it felt that way, until I got really sick.
So sick that I couldn’t show up for ANY of my finals that first semester of my junior year, which didn’t do wonders for my GPA.
As the time to apply to my dream schools grew closer, I had this sinking realization: all my participation made me busy, but it wouldn’t make me stand out.
I needed to cut out any extracurricular activities and efforts that did not exactly align with my passion, and find one thing that did.
I started to volunteer at a local elementary school. There, I created my first Passion Project -- a program that focused on helping low-income students master math and literacy.
From then on, I focused on what I was truly passionate about. I wrote compelling essays about this Passion Project, and I reached out to professors about it.
P.S. I also started going to bed at a reasonable hour :-)
And when the time came to apply for university admissions, I didn't have a bunch of extracurriculars to list on my application. I hadn’t attended any summer programs. I didn’t do what everyone else was doing.
Instead, I demonstrated that I was an action-taker. I showed my dream school that I had passion and vision, and that I was willing to roll up my sleeves and make a real difference by supporting low-income students in mastering math and literacy in the real world. I showed that I wasn’t someone who just talked about or dreamed about change.
I instigated change!
I got accepted into USC and Harvard without the best GPA, because I showed them that I could take initiative and was determined to grow. My Passion Project said more about me than 100 extracurriculars or a 4.0 ever could.

I don’t know what my passion is - will this program still work for me?
Absolutely. In fact, if you don’t yet know what your passion is and you haven’t started developing a Passion Project, you arguably need this program more than anyone else! Inside the 1-Year College Consulting Program, you’ll get all the information and strategies you need to identify your strengths, interests, and passion without feeling overwhelmed.
As soon as you enroll, you’ll get access to a tried and tested framework that will help you brainstorm, strategize, execute and scale your Passion Project in a way that will make you stand out and capture major attention on your Ivy League and top-tier applications.
And of course, if you have any individual questions about your interests and passions, bring them to our Monthly Live Q&A sessions!
I don’t have the best GPA and SAT/ACT scores - can this program still work for me?
Yes. And if your GPA or test scores are an area of concern, that’s just another reason why it’s so important that you develop and execute a Passion Project. Personally, I was able to get accepted into both USC and Harvard with less-than-perfect GPA and SAT scores, and I’ve helped many students who didn’t have the TOP scores get into their schools of choice by focusing on their Passion Project.
That being said, your GPA IS important, too...which is why we also cover how you can study and manage your time more effectively inside PPBC. My goal for you is that your test scores and transcripts improve WHILE you build and execute your Passion Project. That way, you’ll be undeniably worthy of getting into your dream school.
I’m currently in 8th or 9th grade. Am I too young for this program?
Definitely not. The earlier, the better. Ivy Leagues/Top-tier colleges are looking for how you foster your academic and personal interest over time! The earlier you start this process, the more CONFIDENCE and CLARITY you’ll have when it’s time to submit your applications!
My family and I will be busy during the summer: traveling, summer programs, and preparing for SAT/ACT. Can the program still work for me?
Of course. When you enroll, you get lifetime access to PPBC. That means you have immediate access to the materials and can review them whenever you choose, as many times as you choose. The program is self-paced and will be a resource for you as long as you need it.
What if I’m not aiming for Ivy League/Top-tier colleges?
No worries! While the program will support you getting a “Yes” when you apply for Ivy League and Top-tier universities, it will also help you stand out during the application process for schools that aren’t as exclusive.
Passion Project Bootcamp will support you if you are a high school student who’s feeling overwhelmed and confused by the college admissions journey. You’ll get immediate access to a proven, step-by-step framework that will equip you to get accepted to YOUR #1 choice of college/university and also increase your chances of getting a merit-aid scholarship wherever you decide to apply.
What’s included in the Passion Project Bootcamp (PPBC)?
This is our 1-Year College Consulting Program. You'll get monthly live Q&A sessions, and 8 units (lifetime access) you can go through at your own pace. If you're in 9th or 10th grade, you'll also walk away with your 11th and 12th-grade college admissions strategies too! All the Monthly Live Q&A sessions will be recorded so that even when you're finished with the Passion Project Bootcamp, you can reference back easily. The best part is that even after 1 year is over, you get lifetime access to the 8 Units and all the bonuses!
Before you go, let me share just a little bit more about how WE are connected. See, I went through the same process you’re about to go through not too many years ago. I remember how nerve-wracking it was. I felt confused...overwhelmed, and uncertain where to put my time and efforts. I figured it out, but I wish I’d had a guide to walk alongside me.
All the effort was worth it though when I set foot on my dream campus. Following my passion and dreaming BIG has given me the beautiful life I have today.
And I’ll never forget walking down the aisle at Harvard in tears to accept my diploma . . . and seeing my immigrant parents & grandma crying happy tears in the crowd. What a dream. What an amazing dream.
I know the fact that I was able to do this . . .means that you can do it too.
Life is too short to play small. You deserve to dream big! And you don’t have to do it alone.
Join me inside the Passion Project Bootcamp, and let’s go get your dreams together!
With smiles, love, and support,
Julie Ed.M Harvard University
